[SMM Hydrogen Energy Policy Update] Shanxi: Notice on Implementing Toll Subsidies for Hydrogen-Powered Freight Vehicles Traveling on Expressways in Shanxi Province (Trial)

On May 21, the Shanxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission and other departments issued a notice (on a trial basis) regarding the implementation of toll subsidies for hydrogen-powered trucks traveling on expressways in Shanxi Province.

The notice states that the scope of the toll subsidy for hydrogen-powered trucks includes:

Hydrogen-powered trucks registered in the transportation administration system of the Integrated Transportation Management Service Platform of Shanxi Province and equipped with ETC devices that are in use.

The travel route is on expressways within the territory of Shanxi Province, and both the entry and exit records and the inter-station travel paths are within the territory of Shanxi Province.

For trucks that meet the above conditions and travel on expressways within the territory of Shanxi Province, the tolls will be subsidized and uniformly paid by the provincial finance.

The implementation period is from 0:00 on June 1, 2025, to 24:00 on May 31, 2027. The trial period is tentatively set at 2 years, and it will be optimized and adjusted after expiration based on the implementation situation.

The notice points out that the operating entities of hydrogen-powered trucks shall truthfully declare vehicle information. If any fraudulent behavior is found, they will be disqualified from enjoying the toll subsidy policy, and their illegal and non-compliant responsibilities will be strictly pursued.
